The short version
Youlink never stores your addresses, your GPS location or your files. The planner runs in your browser, and closing or refreshing the page clears your route. We do keep a simple record of how the planner is used, described below.
Usage records
When you use the planner, Youlink records:
- your IP address, and the approximate city, region, country and internet provider that come with it
- your device and browser type
- a random ID saved in a first-party cookie in your browser, so we can tell repeat visits apart from new ones. The cookie lasts up to one year and is renewed when you visit; if cookies are blocked, browser local storage is used where available
- which features you used and when: opening the page, "Locate me" (worked or not), importing (and how many addresses), reordering or editing stops, opening or copying a route, the number of stops and sections, and the travel mode
These records never include the addresses you search, your stops or your GPS coordinates. They are stored with Cloudflare, are only visible to Youlink, and are used to understand and improve the planner. There is currently no fixed deletion date. To ask what we hold about your IP address, or to have it deleted, email us (details below). Clearing your browser's site data removes the random ID.
What goes to Google
- Address search. Text you type or import is sent to Google Places to find matching places.
- Your location. Only if you tap "Locate me". It is used as your starting point and to show nearby results first, so it is sent to Google with your searches and included in your route link.
- Your route. When you open a route, your stops are sent to Google Maps in the link.
Google handles this data under the Google Privacy Policy.
Spreadsheets
Excel and CSV files are read on your device and never uploaded. To read them, the page loads the SheetJS library from cdn.sheetjs.com, which can see your IP address in the same way as any website you visit.
Hosting
This page is served by Cloudflare, which keeps standard request logs such as IP address and browser type for security and performance.
